Welcome to Avalon Farms
Avalon Farms is a master planned community developed by the Heritage Development Group. The community consists of 48 single family homes on 60 acres of pristine countryside in New England's distinguished community of Middlebury, Connecticut. Uncommon in design, rich in setting and location, Avalon Farms captures the warmth, colors and textures that will delight the senses and satisfy the needs of the most discerning homebuyer.
The architecture of Avalon Farms suggests France's Normandy region and the Cotswolds area of the United Kingdom. In a 2002 New Times article, Richard Moisan, head of Moisan Architects in Woodbury said that the homes "are deliberately different from the early New England reproductions that everyone else is doing". Faux stonework exteriors, master bedrooms and baths on the ground floor, two or three additional bedrooms and one or two additional baths on the second floor are featured. Some homes have lofts, walkout basements, two-story foyers and family rooms; all models have mudrooms, laundries, two half-baths, decks or patios and two- or three-car garages. Homes are clustered in enclaves of four or five homes surrounding mini-greens. The driveways empty onto a road that encircles the mini-green and exits onto the subdivision road. Ten percent or more of the land is dedicated to open space.
